Married At First Sight season 19’s Jayln Garcia took a chance and got married to her husband Josh sight unseen, and while her relationship with her mother is a huge part of the season, most are curious about the impact that her father, former professional baseball player Jesse Garcia, has on her life throughout the intense, life-changing experience of MAFS.
While Married At First Sight season 19 features five different couples who are entering into the experiment, Jayln has a stronger connection with one over the rest. Jayln’s mother, Belynda Garcia, is also part of the MAFS season 19 cast. Watching Jayln marry Josh, Belynda then got to live her own MAFS wedding the following day to her new husband, Chad.

Explaining that he was in the MLB for a number of years, Jayln kept things light.
While it was clear that Jesse, who played for the Baltimore Orioles, the Atlanta Braves, and the San Diego Padres for different stretches from 1999-2005, played a big part in Jayln’s life, his impact on her view of relationships wasn’t necessarily positive. As someone who had to travel consistently, it’s clear that Jesse wasn’t always present in some of Jayln’s formative years, which could’ve skewed her worldview.

As someone who spent a lot of time traveling during the early 2000s at the height of his career, Jesse’s struggles in his own marriage with Belynda made a difference in the way Jayln looked for love. Sharing that her parents stayed together despite there being infidelity in their relationship, Jayln was open about wanting a marriage that was different than what they shared.
Although Jesse was present at Jayln’s wedding and open about wanting her to enjoy her Married At First Sight experience, learning more about him from both Jayln herself and his ex-wife Belynda was eye-opening. Despite his major league career, however, Jesse appears to be a part of his family no matter who else joins in their Married At First Sight era.
